Kumodesk is a program that runs on your computer, and this site tells about it. This page says in plain words what happens to information about you in both. In short: the app sends us nothing, and the site learns only what you decide to write to us.
1Who answers for your data
The Kumodesk app and the site kumodesk.bondsoft.pl are made by Oleksandr Bondarenko Software Solutions, ul. Wałowa 23A/24, 80-858 Gdańsk, Poland, tax number (NIP) 5833576264. For the personal data described on this page this business is the controller in the sense of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the GDPR.
You can write to us through the form on this site or by post at the address above.
2The app on your computer
Kumodesk has no accounts. It does not ask who you are, and there is nothing to sign up for.
- Your boards, notes, tasks, calendar, tables and settings are files in a folder on your own computer. We have no server that receives them and no way to look at them.
- The app keeps no statistics, does not watch how you use it and does not send error reports.
- By itself the app goes online for one thing only: when it starts, it asks GitHub, where its installers are published, whether a newer version exists, and downloads that version if you agree. GitHub sees the IP address of your computer, as any server does; its rules are in GitHub’s privacy statement. The check at start can be switched off in the app’s settings.
Everything else that travels over the network is something you opened yourself:
- A web window is a browser. A site you open in it receives what any browser would give it, sets its own cookies and follows its own privacy policy. Those cookies and sign-ins stay on your computer, in the app’s folder; Kumodesk does not read them and does not pass them on. The small icon of a site is asked from that same site.
- Words typed into a web window’s address line instead of an address are sent to the DuckDuckGo search engine.
- AI assistants, mail, music and other services open as web windows or as programs you start yourself, under your own accounts. What you write there goes to the company behind that service, on its terms.
- The code editor, plugins and programs are started only when you ask for them. The editor is Microsoft’s; before its first start the app shows Microsoft’s licence and waits for your consent.
3This site
- The site sets no cookies. It has no analytics, no advertising, no visit counters and no parts loaded from other companies; its fonts and pictures come from the site itself.
- Your browser remembers two small things for this site so that it looks the same next time: the theme you picked and the language. They stay in your browser and are removed when you clear the site’s data.
- The company that hosts the site keeps an ordinary server log: the IP address, the time, the page that was asked for and the name of the browser. It is needed to keep the site working and to stop attacks; we do not join it with anything else.
- To lead the download button straight to the newest file, the page asks GitHub’s public service which version is the latest, and the installers themselves are downloaded from GitHub. In both cases GitHub sees your IP address.
4When you write to us
The form on this site sends nothing to us. It prepares your message and opens GitHub, where you publish it yourself under your GitHub account.
A message published this way is public: anyone can read it. Please leave out of it everything you would not say aloud. Your account there is handled by GitHub under its own rules.
5Who else can see something
We do not sell data, do not give it to advertisers and do not build profiles of people. Only these take part in the work described above:
- the hosting company, which serves the pages and keeps the server log;
- GitHub, Inc. (United States), which publishes the installers, answers the question about the newest version and, if you choose to write there, shows your public message;
GitHub is a company in the United States, so the requests named above leave the European Economic Area; the safeguards it relies on for this are described in its privacy statement.
6Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us:
- what data about you we hold, and for a copy of it;
- to correct it or to delete it;
- to limit what we do with it, or to stop doing it;
- to hand it to you in a form another service can read.
Write to us through the form on this site or by post at the address above; we answer within a month. We make no decisions about people automatically.
If you believe we handle your data wrongly, you may complain to a supervisory authority: in Poland it is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes UODO, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa), or the authority of the country you live in.
7Changes to this text
If the app or the site begins to handle data differently, this page is changed first, and the date at its top with it.
